The Chequers was the first London pick up point for Farmdrop, right in the
middle of the high street in E17. The Chequers was present in
Walthamstow as early as 1699, when it acted as a courtroom and meeting
place. In the early 1900s it’s courtyard was once used as a soup
kitchen. These days it’s perfectly happy just being a pub, serving the
good people of Walthamstow and continuing to be a part of the community.
Fitting place for a Farmdrop pick-up point, I think you’d agree.
