Farmdrop Staff Picks – Tried and Tested Favourites Selected by Our Team

3rd August 2020

Working at Farmdrop, you’re obligated to test the produce. Whether it’s trying in house recipe developer Gemma’s newest creation, getting your hands on some freebies from the office (if you can beat the crowd), or enjoying our staff discount. Everyone’s got that one product that they just can’t get enough of, so we thought we’d share with you some of our top staff picks. If they’re on this list, you can be assured they’re worth it!

Shahbaz – Wholemeal and Rye Sourdough (Sliced Bukowski)

“Toast it well (close to half crisp) then lather with Longman’s salted butter. You’ll find the reason or I’ll give your money back in piggy bank credit.”

Theo – London Burrata

“I absolutely love this London Burrata. The taste is superb and the double pack is perfect for a family lunch, I use it as a centrepiece in a salad combined with some of our specialty tomatoes and it’s always well-received. It’s great to see we can make such superb cheese right here in London, too!”

Cillian – Northern Helles Lager

“Donzoko showcase three of my favourite things in a beer: sustainable packaging, a low-ish ABV and beautiful German Hallertauer Hops. A perfect sipper this summer – and a chance to get to Bavaria without having to brave an airport.”

Lucy – Bootleg Hand Sanitiser Spray

“The new staple – I never leave home without it! 70% alcohol with vitamin E & lavender oil. Really moisturising for a hand sanitiser.”

Samina – Organic Carrots

“Never tasted such amazing quality sweet earthy carrots, they taste so fresh just like when we were little, you can never compare them to supermarket carrots, we add them into a slow cooked lamb and carrot stew.”

Mellanie – Nytimber Rosé

“Nothing beats a glass of this beautiful sparkling rose. It’s wonderfully light and fruity, perfect for a special occasion or simply settling into a warm summer’s evening!”

Ye – Almond Croissant

“Nutty frangipane filling with big size of croissant, pre-cut in half which it’s handy to put extra filling in such as eggs and cheese.”

Angie – Haye Farm Organic Seasonal Salad

“It’s different every time you get it but it always contains a great selection of leaves, herbs and flowers – so much more interesting than what you get from a supermarket. And it lasts really well for a bagged salad.”

Joe – Torres Jamon Crisps

“The only ‘meat’ crisps that actually taste like what they are meant to. Mind blown.”

Louis – Homeslice Pizza

Homeslice has been one of my favourite pizza joints in London for a while now so to have them on the shop has been great. The fact that their pizzas have been part baked in their wood-fired over is brilliant because it means that the base has a lovely char on it, and it finishes off in the oven really well. It’s by far the best oven-ready pizza I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten a lot!”

Alun – Kid Goat Shanks

“They are the mutt’s nuts”

Tali – Patchwork Face Mask

“A handmade face mask using left over fabrics, comfortable to wear, reusable & machine washable. Also it looks great!”

Gemma – Shetland X Romney Lamb Shoulder – Butterflied

“The most delicious tasting lamb, delicious marinated in garlic, lemon and rosemary and barbecued over coals, or roasted in the oven. Best enjoyed pink in the middle.”

Lotty – Organic Seasonal Mixed Mushrooms

“An amazing range of exciting mushrooms in one punnet, all of which are really full of flavour, can’t pick a favourite!”
