Produce of the week: Wild Country Organics

We are very pleased to introduce Wild Country Organics this week. Their produce is stunning and with spring on its way, it’s about time for some salads.

Dr Adrian Izzard has developed some great techniques to grow a wide range of the best tasting organic vegetables and salads, at his modern organic family farm just outside Cambridge.

Their 5 acres of glasshouses mean they can grow year-round without heating, improving flavour and making their crops a luscious green. Produce is harvested in the morning, when it’s cooler, and delivered to you the next day.

Organic since 1998, in the summer they specialise in producing a wide variety of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, aubergines, and salad leaves. They’ve won several Soil Association awards, most recently for their Organic Leaf Salad Mix and previously for their beautiful stripy aubergines. The former is a delicious mix of leaves with mustardy and peppery flavours. Wild Country Organics asked their customers how long the salad stayed fresh for, they said ‘It would last all week if we could resist eating it’.

We are delighted to have them on board – their produce is simply astounding.
