We’re very pleased to be working with the green fingered duo Joel and Paola of Calabaza Farm, located 13.1 miles from Trafalgar Square in Sutton, just south west of the Big Smoke. These blushing beauties are not the forced type, but are from the first batch of their field grown season. So they’re pretty special if we do say so ourselves.
If you feel like breaking out of the obligatory ceramic crumble pot, try slowly stewing them with vanilla and orange zest and then popping the pulpy goodness on top of some bircher muesli in the morning. Or for a total change, you could always go down the savoury route and serve it up with meats such as pork and beef. Try roasting with red wine and sugar and serve with some rare roast beef tenderloin – it’s totally the new maple bacon.
