It’s time to turn your attention to the first meal of Christmas Day: breakfast! While your dinner is the main event, Christmas breakfast is a lovely opportunity to set the tone for what will be a special day with friends and family.
A hearty, easily-made breakfast will also fuel all of the present unwrapping, cooking and entertaining you have to get through before you finally sit down to a late lunch.
Our recipe developer, Gemma, put some thought into creating two delicious options – both are luxurious in their own right, and are made with minimal fuss!
The Vegan Buckwheat & Blueberry Pancakes are a crowd-pleaser – whether you’re vegan or not! Wonderfully nutty (thanks to the buckwheat flour), and wonderfully festive when stacked to a great height, we think adults and kids alike will enjoy flipping these for breakfast. Plus, a little icing sugar makes it even more magic.
Next up, is more of an ‘assembly’ task, than a ‘stand at the cooker’ job. And this one is truly inspired. Take deliciously butter croissants, and fill them with a variety of sweet and savoury combinations. Get your taste buds firing with things like caramel, salty smoked fish or a tart cherry jam.
You can really let your taste buds, and imagination run wild here – but if you need somewhere to ‘start’, we created three tasty combinations to whip together. Below, you’ll find the links to the recipes for each of these stuffed croissants, and you can add the ingredients straight into your basket too!
