Weingut Theodorus is located in the Pfalz region of Germany, with the original wine estate being started up by Thomas Lergenmuellers ancestors in 1778. The business was handed to Thomas to manage in 1996, when he set about converting the entire 13 hectare estate to ecological cultivation. A ‘Master Wine Grower’, he now only uses wild yeasts for his natural fermentations, making wines which have grown in complexity and dimension, as the years go by. The vineyards are scattered around the most renowned wine-growing areas surrounding the village of Hainfeld and the Riesling particularly benefits from heavy clay-rich limestone soil. With hand-picking, and careful elaboration, these are precise, clean, well made wines that will delight those that try them.
