David Govier runs Langridge Farm which has been farmed by the Govier family since 1969. Situated just outside the market town of Crediton, Devon, the farm consists of 270 acres of mixed organic land, with approximately 170 acres dedicated to growing wonderful organic vegetables, particularly kales, chard and brassicas. The farm boasts fantastic biodiversity with a fabulous array of wildlife present on the farm. The high levels of earthworms present in the soil is testament to the incredible soil health, and in practical terms makes cultivation a lot easier. David’s main crops are spinach, chards, (of various colours) and kales including curly green and red, Cavolo Nero and Red Russian. He also grows some wonderful purple and white sprouting broccoli along with hearty cabbage varieties.
