Westmill Organics - Farmdrop Local Food Delivery

Westmill Organics

Pete has been growing organic vegetables at Westmill Farm for around 20 years and the fertility now built up in his fields produces abundant crops and encourage an amazing diversity of wildlife. Various crops are rotated through Westmill Organics each year - expect everything from bunched carrots to new potatoes, radishes, tomatoes, kale and lettuce in the Summer months; moving to celeriac, squashes, parsnips, carrots, cabbages, beetroot and swede in Autumn/Winter - if it grows in the Wiltshire soil, Pete will have seeds in the ground. Additionally, the farm strives for zero waste - at Farmdrop we don't mind if our veg comes a little 'wonky' which minimises food waste at the farm; furthermore, any veg waste material (bedraggled outer leaves, or pest damaged veg for instance) is mixed with wood chip to create compost to add nutrients back into the soil. As Pete states: "organic farming recognises the direct connection between our health and how the food we eat is produced", and the farm operates with this philosophy firmly at the centre of all growing processes.
