Dark green cavolo nero (also known as Tuscan Kale), grown following organic principles by Kate on her 2 acre market garden in Bradford-On-Avon.
The deep green of this sprouting brassica's crinkled leaves is a sure sign of its hearty nutrition.
In a plastic bag, kale can be kept for up to a week in the vegetable drawer of the fridge. Don’t store kale with any fruits that give off ethylene gas, such as apples, or the leaves will quickly yellow.
