Cut from the centre of the loin, these organic sirloin steaks come from the grass-fed herd of Sussex cattle reared at Purton House in Wiltshire and are lean, juicy and tender.

Purton House Organics says

A popular cut well-marbled with tasty fat, season well just before flash frying or griddling and serve with homemade béarnaise sauce or a fresh, zingy salsa verde. Slice finely for stir fries or dice and marinade before skewering onto kebabs and searing on the barbecue.

Cooking Instructions

To fry: Heat oil, or butter and oil, in a frying pan until very hot. Place steak in pan and do not move until turning over. Fry for 2.5 minutes per side for rare; 4 minutes per side for medium; 6 minutes per side for well-done. Rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Staffed by daughters, nephews, nieces and friends, Purton House truly is a family venture – and workers who aren’t related are treated just like they are! Lunch is served to all workers and anyone idly wandering into the kitchen would find it impossible to tell who was family and who wasn’t.
