Lahpet's Ginger Salad

A zesty and fresh ginger salad from lahpet, one of London's only Burmese Restaurants. This salad is packed with Lahpet's delicious house made and imported Burmese products, many of which aren't widely available outside of Myanmar.

Here’s how you do it

  1. Finely slice the tomatoes, shallot(s), garlic & chilli(es)
  2. Finely shred the cabbage
  3. Chop the coriander
  4. Add all the ingredients to a bowl
  5. Squeeze the lime on top & season with salt
  6. Mix well & serve

Ingredients

  • 80g Lahpet pickled ginger
  • 100g Lahpet fried beans
  • 200g finely shredded cabbage
  • 2 small shallots or one larger banana shallots, finely sliced*
  • 2-3 medium tomatoes sliced or a couple of handfuls or cherry tomatoes halved or quartered
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and finely sliced*
  • 4 sprigs coriander, chopped
  • 2 tbsps Lahpet crispy shallots
  • 1 Birdseye chili, finely sliced
  • 2 dashes of vegan fish sauce, or to taste
  • 25ml Lahpet shallot oil or peanut/groundnut oil
  • 1/4 wedge lime*
  • 1 tbsp toasted chickpea flour
