Jazz up your ploughmans, or any lunchbox with these insane looking eggs. They make ridiculously pretty devilled eggs too if you dare to go that retro!

Here's how you do it

  1. Hard boil eggs & peel.

  2. Peel and cube beetroot, mix together with sugar, salt, cider vinegar and water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5 minutes.

  3. Place eggs in a mason jar along with bay leaves, peppercorns and cloves. Pour over liquor and seal. Keep sealed for a day before eating.

  • 2 beetroot

  • tbsp cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
