Plum Crumble

Plum season is upon us, and what better way to celebrate these juicy favourites than in a comforting crumble? We've added hazelnuts and dark brown sugar to give it a richer flavour. A dollop of cream, to serve, is very much encouraged.

Here’s how you do it

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Add the flour and butter to a bowl. Use your fingertips to work them together, until you have a breadcrumb texture. Add the hazelnuts, 60g of sugar and salt. Stir together.
  3. Arrange the plums in a dish. Sprinkle over the tablespoon of sugar and water, folllowed by the crumble mixture. Make sure all the plums are covered.
  4. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes, until golden and bubbling. Serve with a dollop of cream.


  • 800g plums, halved and destoned
  • 60g organic hazelnuts, chopped
  • 130g organic butter, cold and cubed
  • 200g plain flour
  • 60g (+ 1 tbsp) dark muscovado sugar
  • A pinch of salt*
  • 2 tbsp water*
